Chop Chop Part 2

29 Apr

All right peeps here’s the finished product, super fresh straight from the cutter’s chair. It’s really a damn good cut, courtesy of the super-sweet and highly talented D’Artanian Dior (I didn’t have the balls to ask if his parents gave him that name). We chatted Sydney vs Melbourne, as I’m obliged to do when in Melbourne, and how important it is to find your groove in a city. The D Man reckons it only takes 6 months and you either love it or leave. This dude is confident and he was in seventh heaven hacking off my horrible lanky locks as the junior stylists stood around sneaking peeks. The colour was painted on by the equally delightful but less extravagantly named Katherine. Really it was worth having the colour just to sit in the chair for 30 minutes and read magazines undisturbed.

Here tis the next day when it’s a bit grittier (or dirtier, depending on your spin), and you can see the colour a little better.

See the disconnection there between the short sides and the long top. Oh yeah, that’s hairdresser speak for rad. I know it’s a bit cheeky to rave about a Melbourne salon when most of youse are probably in Sydney, but here’s the thing – holidays seem to give me extra freedom to make changes and I wonder if the same is true for you?

When you’re away from home, do you get more adventurous?

How much does your haircut affect your self image?

D’Artanian Dior is a wonderful name! Three musketeers and classic fashion, what romance!

This is the Internet, no reason why people outside of Sydney won’t read your blog!
